just so you kow – it is not a simple undertaking.

PHP based cart.. OSCommerce is good (many would say the best) open source. ZenCart is also good. You could also use a CMS (Content Mangaement System) like Drupal or WordPress – both are fairly robust, free/open-source and have commerce modules. All these options do necessitate your server offers PHP and MYSQL database.

An easy fix is PayPal ‘buy now’ buttons.. they offer the gateway payment module and simple customizable buttons that can be inserted as simple HTML forms. No PHP, MYSQL required and not too difficult to figure out.

Zen Cart

It is not a simple undertaking — and none will be. It does have a module for PayPal’s IPN. Pay Pal is the easiest payment system to work with.

Surf to http://www.oscommerce.com for all your Open Source Online Shop E-Commerce Solutions. Yes, is difficult, a lot of technical knowledge is required.

Alternatively, if you are lazy to build on your own from scratch and lack the skills, try http://www.shopify.com which lets you build your e-storefront with as much style and flair as you see fit in a fly!
