I personally wouldn’t recommend using a free eCommerce shopping cart script unless you are well and truly prepared to dig into the code and customise everything yourself. Also, don’t expect any help if you encounter a problem.
There are a lot of options on the market and I’ve used a few of them, including X-cart and Sunshop. Both of these are OK but lack flexibility. I recently set up a shop using Interspire Shopping Cart www.interspire.com and it was fantastic. This script has only been on the market for about 8 months but it’s already loaded with heaps of fantastic features…and there’s more to come!! While it is expensive you do get what you pay for and their customer support is second to none.
In terms of hosting, the company above will soon be offering hosting solutions as well. If you’re going to host the website yourself all I can suggest is you don’t be stingy with your money and make sure the server is located in the same country where you conduct most of your business.

Some cool Money with Clickbank images:
Yet another street fair, Oct 2009 – 79

Here’s another example of a phenomenon that I don’t think you would have seen a year ago: a food vendor wearing sterile gloves, as he slathers butter and salt on an ear of hot, roasted corn.
Note: this photo was published in an undated (Jul 2010) iFoodtv blog titled "Corn kebab photos." It was also published in a Jan 6, 2011 blog titled "How can I make money really fast online?" It was also published in a Jan 10, 2011 "lLearn-2-Earn-Online blog, with the same title and caption as what I had written on this Flickr page. And it was published in an Apr 20, 2011 blog titled "How to Get Into The Market To Make Money Online." It was also published in a Jul 25, 2011 issue of MyCityCuisine.org with the rather unusual title of "File:Rco3." And it was published in a Sep 29, 2011 blog titled "2 Ways To Make Money With Twitter."

Another Sunday, another street fair. Last Sunday, it started at 96th Street and stretched north up to 106th on Broadway; today it started at 96th Street, and worked its way down to 86th Street. But aside from that, it was pretty much the same: same vendors, same cheap chachka merchandise. Same booths, as I noted last week, selling reggae music, discount subscriptions to the New York Times, and chiropractors earnestly telling passers-by how they can make anyone’s back feel good once again. Same volunteer organizations beseeching tourists and residents for donations to various worthy causes. Same gyros, sausage, souvlaki, corn on the cob, candy apples, lemonade, French crepes, hot dogs, calzone, funnel cake, zeppoles, shish kebab, pickles, olives, french fries, onion rings, spring rolls, and Thai food. The roasted corn on the cob has been especially popular; it seems that almost everyone is munching away on the stuff.
As I noted last week, it’s the people who change from one fair to another; and while a neighborhood fair might attract the same people week after week, I didn’t see any familiar faces. Once again, I set my camera to optimize the likelihood of getting some decent "hip shots" (for those who care: wide-angle setting on the zoom lens, aperture-priority with f/8, ISO 800 to force the auto-exposure mechanism to shoot at fast shutter speeds of approx 1/400 second), and just wandered down Broadway, pointing the camera at anyone that looked interesting. There were a couple of bands, and three different blues/rock musicians wailing away, and I had a good time trying to capture a visual representation of their music …
Altogether, I shot roughly 700 photographs, and I expect that I’ll end up with about 70 keepers. But it will take me a while to get through them all, and I’ll probably upload about 10 images a day for the next week. And hopefully, that will be the last of the street fairs on this side of town … until next spring.
Sand Dollar Beach – Day 1 – 49

Oy. It was also published in a May 28, 2011 blog titled "How to Make a Million Dollars With Clickbank | My Millionaire Mind … " And it was published in a Jun 13, 2011 blog titled "Does anyone know if clickbank will actually make you money?"
******************************
Forty years after I first stumbled onto Sand Dollar Beach, during wandering drive through the Big Sur region in the summer of 1969, I decided to come back and see if things were still the same…
I’m glad to report that there are no fast-food outlets up in the parking area, or down on the beach: KFC, McDonalds, and Burger King haven’t discovered the place yet. But it’s now a state park with a /day parking fee, a collection of non-functioning outhouses, and a graded walkway to an observation area looking out over the expanse of the mile-long beach.
Down on the beach itself, the rock formations remain the same as they were 40 years ago … and 40 thousand years ago … and probably 40 million years ago. The beach was deserted when I arrived half an hour before dawn, and it was deserted when I left half an hour after sunset. This is good; this is how it should be …
But during the main part of the day — from roughly 10 AM until 6 PM — it’s a lot more crowded than it used to be. I didn’t do a precise count, but I’d estimate there were 50-100 people stretched along the beach, with various groups arriving and leaving throughout the day. Most were surfers, some were fishermen, some were families out for a picnic in the sunshine. I saw a couple of photographers like me, and I met a retired couple from Skagway, Alaska that had first pitched a tent here five years ago, up in the campsite area, and who had decided to come back, like me, to see if it was still just as beautiful as it used to be.
I’m no Ansel Adams or Edward Weston, and I have no idea if those two photographic giants ever visited this particuar spot in Big Sur. In their absence, I can make only a modest attempt to convey the beauty and the peacefulness of this beach. To truly appreciate it, you’ll have to come see it for yourself. On second though, please don’t; I’d like to come back again in another 40 years without finding it overrun by strangers…
PopTech 2009 attendees, day 2 – 23

*********************************************************
For approximately the sixth time since 2001, I attended the annual Pop!Tech conference in Camden, Maine; it’s always held in October, and this year, it took place on Oct 22-24. People often ask me what Pop!Tech is all about, and the simple answer is that it deals with the interaction between technology and society — most often in the form of lectures and presentations about the innovative ways that people around the world are using today’s technology to make a positive impact on a wide range of social problems. But rather than depending on my summary of what it’s all about, I recommend that you visit the Pop!Tech web site for more information.
Unlike previous years, I photographed almost every Powerpoint slide presented by each of the speakers throughout the conference. Combined with the photos that I took of conference attendees, that resulted in some 600 images on the first day — which I whittled down to 450 on this Flickr set, but that’s an overwhelming collection for anyone to look at.
For the second and third day of the conference, I decided to separate the photos of attendees from the straightforward photos of speakers and their Powerpoint slides. This set contains about three dozen images of attendees, and it will give you a good sense of the kind of people who invest their time and money to trek all the way to Camden, Maine to sit on uncomfortable seats for three days indulging in a sensory overload of materials from dozens of impassioned speakers. The attendees are from all over the U.S., and from several other countries too; they include both young and old; men and women; students and professors; academics and practitioners.
Aside from the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to social change (with or without technology), the other thing that is obviously shared among all of these attendees is the gadgetry they use to stay in touch with the world. You’ll see a predominance of Mac laptops in these photos; and you’ll also see a lot of iPhones and other "smart phones." Keep in mind that people were not chatting on their phones during these presentations; instead, they were using their smart-phones to email, Twitter, chat, and browse the Web.
Conference attendees from the third day of the conference will appear in a separate Flickr set, as soon as I can get them organized; and the speaker/presentation slides from the second and third day of the conference will also appear in separate Flickr sets.
A couple of technical notes: I used a Nikon D700 for all of these photos, mostly with a 70-300mm zoom lens. I sat in the balcony section of the Camden Opera House, where the conference took place, so I was primarily photographing other people in the balcony section. An equally large number of attendees were seated on the main floor of the building, but I didn’t see much point in photographing the tops of their heads. Because I could increase the ISO setting on the camera all the way up to 6400, I was able to get reasonably good images without a flash. The lights were turned on while I was photographing, but it was fairly dim in some areas; I did my best to compensate with an appropriate "white balance" setting on the camera.
